Codicil

Codicil

Life is not static, the only thing constant in life is change. Children are born, old ones transit to beyond, people get married or divorced, our opinion on our loved ones changes, appointed Executors may have passed away or become incapacitated, you might have changed your mind as to who should receive gifts in your Will, the value of your cash gifts might have changed, as a result of inflation etc, since the Will was made etc.

After making a Will, there might be a need to make changes to your Will without completely writing a new document. What you need is a Codicil to amend your Will.

A Codicil is a document that amends an existing Will, but does not replace it. It allows you to change your Will without making an entirely new Will. The main benefit of using a Codicil is that it is time and cost-effective.

How do I make a Codicil?

At FCMB Trustees, our highly skilled professionals with expertise and experience will take you through making a Codicil if one is desired by you.
